This is my latest single. I wrote it, rapped it, produced the skit intro, and finessed the beat. The beat was just a basic arpeggiated sequence for the verse and a guitar lick for the chorus when I got it from a producer friend (No1MC) — everything else you hear in the beat is something I added to it.
This song is meant to celebrate the tradition of storytelling in traditional hip hop lyricism. Obviously, it’s a work of fiction.
This song was actually the unintended prequel to a (unreleased) song called “Still On The Run” that I made years ago, when I was first starting out.
