skinnyblk is a multimedia journey through Sean Avery’s life that celebrates being both Black and gender non-binary by confronting the stigmas of toxic masculinity and race through interdisciplinary performance art. Using anime, superheroes, rap, and spoken word, Avery challenges the lines separating “boy” and “girl” in the struggle to discover their authentic self.
