Description

We're joined by Faysal Itani for Episode 43 of The Beirut Banyan, and we discuss long-standing structural problems facing Lebanon. The conversation includes difficulties in persisting with the confessional power-sharing mechanism Lebanon inherited in 1943, and the unsustainable post-1989 economic model protestors are currently challenging.

Faysal Itani is a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council with a focus on defense policy and extremism, and a professor at The George Washington University.
