Recently, my friend Alexey discovered he had an old mixtape of mine. It turned out to be the very first mixtape I ever released in 1992 as "Curious Josh". I was still in high school and had been DJing for only 1 year. He told me he inherited it from an Orange County promoters collection. Listening to it now... 3 decades later... brings back a lot of beautiful memories for me. I think some of my old school house music lover friends would appreciate this one as well. I looked through my tape collection and found the actual master but it does not play anymore. Which is why I'm so stoked on this find! Thank you Alexey!!! The first half is a nice smooth blend of acid house and techno. Very similar to my Acid Junky tapes. The second half is feel good house. My old friend Derek would have loved this side. The mixing gets pretty rough near the end of the tape but just keep in mind I had only been DJing for a year. I'm actually pretty proud of this mix. Recorded in Newport Beach sometime in 1992.
