I really guess I should have checked myself
before I put it all up on the shelf

I didn’t need someone to change
there ain’t another way to say it so
I’m not the first to be this slow
you never let the little things go
and it tortured you

the kinda time that might have seen us through
but I was young and vain and bullet proof

all the things we used to do
after all this time

If I saw you walking down the street
I’d ask you out for a bite to eat
You’d say no and that you had to be home by 9:00
