Allergies after the storm...How are you at risk? Dr. Steven F. Hotze, M.D. and founder of the Hotze Health & Wellness Center breaks down why allergies in Houston are such a problem year-round. The tropical, humid climate certainly doesn't help, especially with this most recent hurricane and subsequent flooding; Mold is extremely active throughout Houston. Airborne and food allergies are also very common and can even be connected to each other. Dr. Hotze also touches on inverse condemnation, homes being flooded when the reservoirs were opened and the lasting impact that will have in the community. Dr. Hotze answers a question from Facebook Live as to why a volunteer developed a cold from the mold and other harmful chemicals she was exposed to while cleaning out homes. Lastly, Dr. Hotze touches on the use of steroids, antihistamines and more!
