Dr. Jim Denison of the Denison Forum provides insight into the life of Saint Patrick by drawing parallels from our life experiences. Even through life’s uncontrollable circumstances, as Saint Patrick was taken captive from his native homeland of Britain at the age of sixteen; to become a shepherd of sheep as a slave in Ireland. We too may encounter hardships out of our control, but not out of the providence of our Creator. It was through Patrick’s captivity that he witnessed the pagan and heathen lifestyle of the people in Ireland, that later promoted him to return after a heroic escape; to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
