Afriqua and OpenLab are proud to present “Ancient to Future”, a new monthly radio show exploring the intersections of music from the past, present, and future. As a producer and DJ with diverse influences and an equally varied output, Afriqua will use his refined skills as a selector to mix music across the genre spectrum. In keeping with the OpenLab spirit, musical selections - from hidden gems of the past to yet unreleased material - will be distinguished by their timelessness, not their trendiness. Afriqua and his co-host, Steph, will discuss ideas from their cozy living room in West Berlin.
On Episode 1, Afriqua breezes through a mix of forward thinking Hip-Hop and lo-slung, disco informed dance music, punctuated by diverse ambient selections. Afriqua and Steph discuss how they’ve gotten through the uncertain times with a positive and productive headspace.
