In Architextures, London Based Dj/Producer Francesca will present soundscapes exploring music as an immaterial form of artistic expression; the articulation of modernist movements and cultural philosophies through multisensory meshworks in orbit. This first episode is meant to be a sort of exploratory cityscape, taking inspiration from the aesthetics, philosophies and cultural style and history that contributed to the Metabolist style as seen on the Nagakin Capsule Tower Apartments. The mix starts with ambient, techno and experimental music, mainly by Japanese composers and producers, exploring minimal and structural sounds, often combined with original Japanese instrumentals and techniques, as well as ambient sounds of nature. Moves through to Japanese jazz, fusion and city pop, referencing the architectural style through Japanese interpretation of western music around the 70s and 80s. Expect music as eclectic as the subject matter which inspires it.
