This month’s Architextures draws upon Hurufiyya’s role in dismantling Western-centric viewpoints within the visual arts, exploring its abilities to transcend national boundaries whilst traversing the infinite possibilities of individual identities, cultural heritage and identification. Focusing on the work of artists and musicians in bridging traditional Arabic sounds and instruments with contemporary electronic techniques, the mix is inspired by eL Seed’s emphasis on art as a means to underline the commonalities of human existence.
