Description

Texas House Bill 1504 makes history by passing the Texas House of Representatives. This bill would allow Ethnic Studies courses to count towards high school graduation requirements. A bi-partisan rainbow coalition united to take this important step to deliver the American Dream through education.

It is set to receive a hearing at the Texas Senate Friday, May 21, 2021, where Texas Senator Carol Alvarado carries the bill. Call your Texas State Senators to inspire them to support this bill.

The bill was authored by Texas State Representative Christina Morales, Democrat, and co-sponsored by Texas State Representative Dan Huberty and Democratic State Representatives Alma Allen, Gene Wu, and Jarvis Johnson.
