For today’s episode we are joined by Chris Morris, Director of Applied Sport Science at the University of Kentucky. He is responsible for developing and implementing the best practice strategies to reduce injury risk and enhance readiness, performance, and recovery for the Wildcats’ football team as well as with men’s and women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s soccer. The Lawrenceburg, Ky., native returned to the Bluegrass after one season as the Director of Applied Sports Science at the University of Texas. Prior to Texas, he spent two years in UK football’s high-performance department as a sports scientist. He is also the Owner of Performance Training Academy in Lexington which serves as a consultant regarding the implementation and analysis of heart rate variability and brain direct current potentials data. Dr. Morris has earned three degrees from Kentucky: bachelor’s degree in marketing, master’s degree in exercise science, and doctorate in exercise science in. As an athlete, Dr. Morris was a punter for the Wildcats football team from 2002-05.
