Mike Gamms is a comedian and activist who focuses on indigenous people's issues. For as long as I've known him, he's told me bits and pieces of his story over cigarettes with the urgency of someone who is the only person in the immediate vicinity that knows about the intricate details of what is really going on at Standing Rock. I sat down to finally get the whole tale from him all at once. It is a tale full of twists, turns, and fantastic characters. Tiger Swan, Dallas Goldtooth, Barack Obama, you can't make this stuff up. What a country.
