Abracadabra: The Devil in the Wilderness
The devil tempts Jesus in the wilderness to speak in order that stones will become bread. This is no small abracadabra magic trick; moreover, this is not a petty attempt to break down a ritual such as fasting. The Devil is attempting to have Christ destroy the order of creation by corrupting the power of the Word. Words have great power, and the Word of God is far beyond any reach of human language. In this lesson will closely examine this temptation of the diabolical one in the wilderness.
