Where are the Prophets in the Church?
In Christian thinking we tend to hold prophets in an air of mystery, as if they have some rare power that is inexplicable and untouchable. We know that God has used prophets throughout history, with the a large variety of prophets in the Old Testament. In the New Testament we hear of teachers and prophets serving as leaders in the church. But where are prophets today, and how would their role be clearly distinguished from other positions within the church? In this message we will examine John the Baptist in Matthew 3 and the Holy Spirit's role in the priesthood of all believers.
