Having revealed Christ as the Great High Priest and communicated how far Jesus has gone to make the way for our salvation, the writer of Hebrews changes his tone for a moment. He speaks a harsh truth in love in order to call the Hebrew Christians who have abandoned their faith back into their Lord Jesus Christ. In the midst of the loving chastisement, we come to a better understanding of why we are not to neglect the Eucharistic Assembly of God's people.
