Feb. 25, 2018 - The Church's discipline of fasting during the 40 days of Lent, indeed the Season of Lent itself, is modeled after the very life of our Lord Jesus Christ. After Jesus was baptized, the Holy Spirit leads Jesus into the wilderness where He would fast and commune with His Father for 40 days. After those 40 days Satan would helplessly temp the Savior to sin. His 40 days paved the way for His people to fast and commune with the Father so that we might grow in His grace to become what we have been reborn to truly be...overcomers of sin.
