Description

Shelley Mitchell, CPA, is the Vice President of Risk at Fort Knox Federal Credit Union. FKFCU has total assets of $1.5 billion, and 16 branches, making it the largest credit union in the state. As the Vice President of Risk, she oversees Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Fraud, Bank Secrecy Act, Quality Assurance, the Chief Information Security Officer and Internal Audit. She started her career at the FKFCU in 2016 as the Chief Internal Auditor. Prior to joining FKFCU, Shelley spent four years at BKD as an auditor. During her time at BKD, she worked primarily on financial institutions, healthcare, and university audits.
Shelley is active in local community support through committee and volunteer efforts. This work affords the opportunity to serve on the United Way of Central Kentucky’s Finance Committee and the KYCPA’s Financial Institution Committee.
In 2010, Shelley graduated from the University of Kentucky, Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s in Finance and Accounting. In 2011, she completed her Master’s in Accountancy, also from the University of Kentucky.
