Have you ever said to yourself, “I can’t believe I completely missed it” when in hindsight it was supposed to be obvious to you? When I’m having a conversation with someone or the person is trying to explain something to me or I’m reading an email, what was supposed to be so obvious yet at that moment, I completely missed the point. What the person was trying to say to me, I completely misinterpreted it. Maybe I’m getting old so I’m losing my hearing. Or maybe I’m just thinking about something else. Or maybe I just jumped to a conclusion and because I did, whatever was said would go through that filter. Today. Yet we see in these passages we will be exploring today, the Jews completely missed it. Signs that were supposed to be obvious to the Jews in Jesus’ day especially the well educated, they just missed it. Why? It’s because they already drew a conclusion, and that conclusion filtered and influenced how they saw Jesus’ signs. How about us? Let’s begin.
