Our task in this episode is to figure out what this hymnwriter was conveying to us when HE wrote of our Lord Jesus that His, the scepter, His, the throne, His, the triumph, His, the victory. That is, the scepter is his. The throne is his. The triumph is His and the victory is His. In employing merism as a figure of speech, what was this Hymnwriter trying to tell us.
Alleluia! Sing to Jesus;
His the scepter, His the throne.
Alleluia! His the triumph,
His the victory alone.
Hark! The songs of peaceful Zion
