My Mixcloud Livestream on July 4th was an epic set of old school soul, funk & disco from the 70’s and early 80’s.
The first 40 minutes or so feature soul classics from Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway & Stevie Wonder with a touch of classic 70’s soul-jazz from War & George Benson. After that we get into some serious funk from Sly & The Family Stone, The Commodores, B.T. Express, The Brothers Johnson, Zapp & Roger, Parliament, Cameo, Fatback, KC & The Sunshine Band and more! I also mixed in some early rap classics from Kurtis Blow, The Sugarhill Gang, The Sequence, Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five and more!
