Luigi Di Venere returns with a bold statement of sonic exploration on his own imprint, Philoxenia Records, with the release of the EP, Spherical Waves. This five-track collection blurs the lines between genres, blending vintage influences with forward-thinking approach. The title Spherical Waves is inspired by the multidimensional essence of sound waves, conveying depth, fluidity, and motion—beautifully brought to life in the artwork created by the CGI artist duo muzzin+samiri.
The A-side kicks off with the title track, Spherical Waves—a tribute to the early ‘90s Frankfurt EBM/house scene. Electric guitars weave through bleep-heavy rhythms, creating an thick, high-energy atmosphere reminiscent of an era where electronic music embraced raw edge and experimentation.
Next up is By Means Of Music, a funky house gem infused with New Beat undertones and balearic warmth. Its infectious groove invites listeners to immerse themselves on sun-drenched dancefloors. The final original, Got Momentum, leans into the spirit of French House, driven by groovy, dynamic drums and uplifting melodies.
On the B-side Got Momentum receives a euphoric rework by the acclaimed Cromby, who adds a distinctly UK twist, elevating the track to peak-time anthem status.
By Means Of Music is transformed by Cycle_2—the dynamic duo of Budino and Torvvo—into a hypnotic, psychedelic techno journey, providing a darker, deeper contrast to the EP’s original vibe.
