Text: Genesis 1:1

Join us for the first part of our sermon series on Genesis as we explore the foundational truth of Scripture: "In the beginning, God..." (Genesis 1:1). This message unpacks the supremacy and sovereignty of God in creation, emphasizing His eternal nature, absolute authority, and matchless power.

🔹 God’s Eternality – Before time began, God was. He is the self-existent, uncaused cause of all things, distinct from creation and unchanging in His nature (Psalm 90:2, Revelation 1:8).

🔹 God’s Sovereignty – Creation is not an accident; it is the purposeful work of a sovereign God. He rules over history, salvation, and all circumstances (Isaiah 45:18, Daniel 2:21).

🔹 God’s Power – By His word, God created all things ex nihilo (out of nothing), displaying His unmatched authority and wisdom (Hebrews 11:3, Psalm 19:1).

🔹 Christ in Genesis – From the beginning, Jesus Christ is central to God’s redemptive plan. He is the Word through whom all things were made (John 1:1-3), the true light that overcomes darkness (John 8:12), and the promised serpent-crusher (Genesis 3:15).
