Your hope is not your own ability to remain faithful to Christ. Your hope is completely trusting the ONE who actually is faithful and who promised to finish the work he started in you. In Mark we see Jesus tell the disciples that they will all fail him and turn their backs on him. But they overestimate their faithfulness to Christ, especially Peter. But in the end, they will find their faithfulness is much weaker than they imagined, but Christ’s faithfulness to save his people is certain. Praise the Lord we are saved by his power and not our own.
