This is the part of the narrative that always brings me to tears. The spotless lamb of God on the cross suffering for our sin. But the good news is when Jesus releases a loud cry just before his death, we know that it was not a cry in anguish or hopelessness. It was a victory cry! Because IT IS FINISHED! Jesus took upon himself the justice and wrath of God for our sin an defeated our enemy once and for all.
