It has been said familiarity breeds contempt. Jesus knew this all to well when he preached to the members of his hometown. The first time they tried to kill him. The second time they called him an illegitimate child of a scandalous woman. The fact is, the normal default for unbelievers is a hard-hearted rejection of the gospel. That is to be expected. So, don't take it personal if you share the hope of Christ and they reject it. Your job is to sow the seed, love the people, pray for God to change their hard hearts and never give up.
