"Jesus came into the world to die for our sins, so that we can go to heaven" is certainly true but it is an oversimplification of what salvation really is. Yes Jesus died for our sin and yes those who trust in Christ are heaven bound, but the truth is salvation is so much bigger than just that. Salvation is not just forgiveness of sins, rather it is a miraculous work accomplished by the triune God that radically transforms our hearts, gives us a new nature, makes us righteous in the sight of God, and adopts us into Gods' family. It is a complete salvation where we are saved from the penalty of sin, progressively saved from the power of sin, and one day we will be saved from the presence of sin. And all of this is done for us by God himself by his grace and is received by us simply by faith. Listen to this week's message.
