John Owen once wrote "Be killing sin, or sin be killing you". It is true that Paul in Romans 8 said we are to put to death the deeds of the body. And it is also true that we are to take sin seriously and pursue holiness. But for those in Christ this is not a call to white-knuckled will power, this is no a call to walk in our own strength. Instead it is a call wield the sword of the spirit (the Word of God) by the power of the Holy Spirit by knowing and believing and trusting in the promises of God. Listen to this week's message.
