This last week we began a short series on the 5 Solas of the Reformation. And we began with the foundation “Sola Scriptura”, or Scripture Alone. Now a lot of people think that scripture alone means all we need is the Bible and that we don't need the church, confessions or pastoral leadership. This is simply untrue. What Sola Scriptura means is the Word of God is the sole infallible, objective, authority for all matter of faith and life. This means that all of our traditions, philosophies, emotions, and religious experiences are all subject to the Word of God and not the other way around. The Bible is God's word and as such it is our ultimate source of truth.
