"For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths." (I Tim 4:3-4)
Paul wrote this about the churches in his time, but this seem to fit what is happening to Christianity in this post modern era. Many want to hear doctrine that makes them FEEL better but doesn't actually make them better.
