Jesus said that heaven and earth will pass away, but His word will not pass away. What does that mean for us? It means that when the mountains you have built your life on give way under your feet, God’s promises still stand. It means that when the storm of your life rages and floods and threatens to wash away all that you hold dear, God’s promises are unbreakable. It means that when the darkness consumes the remaining daylight and the shadows pour over the horizon and threaten to overrun you, the light of God’s word is still your hope and is the lamp unto your feet. The promises of Christ will never fade. They will never fail. And will always be sufficient. Hold on to them.
