Skate culture in the late 90's became a counter culture with its own sense of humor, and leading underground magazine Big Brother was pushing the boundaries of low brow content. When Johnny Knoxville pitched the idea of trying self defense equipment on his self something clicked, and across the states in West Chester, Pennsylvania Bam Margera and his crew were releasing skate culture videos under the CKY banner and when the two united, and audience would embrace it, some would even die trying to mimic it, but it would change comedy, culture, and TV forever.
