John C Bawcombe:

Over the last 15 years I’ve been lucky enough to share thousands of DJ mixes across different social media channels, and in the past two years we’ve also recorded more than 100 mixes live at our Balearic Burger events. One thing I’d never done, though, was record a mix of my own.

So this is a first for me — and definitely outside my comfort zone. I’m usually my own toughest critic, but I wanted to give it a go and be part of something that feels genuinely positive.

This mix is part of a new project called Music For Walking, created by my DJ partner and good mate Simon Lloyd. The idea is simple: combine music, movement and community, and use it to support some really important mental health initiatives. It’s not about perfection or ego — it’s about connection, wellbeing, and doing something that might help someone else feel a bit better on their day.

I’m really proud to be involved in this, mainly because of what it stands for. Mental health matters to all of us, whether directly or through people we care about. If music and a walk can help even a little, then it’s worth backing.

So if you’ve got some time, stick this mix on, get outside if you can, and enjoy a walk with it. And if you’re able to, please consider pledging a few quid to support the mental health causes behind the project.

Every listen helps, and every donation really does make a difference.
Get your walking shoes on.
