An event coverage conducted by Community Connect's Nadia Zahr of the Muslim Women's Welfare of Australia's International Women's Day lunch which was held on Saturday the 25th of March 2017. The theme of the event was 'Be Bold For Change', and women from the local community heard from various speakers about what it means to be bold.
Mrs Faten El Dana OAM, the President of the Muslim Women's Welfare of Australia gave an inspirational speech. There were a number of other speeches conducted by the guests who were present at the event including Ms Farah Khairat representing her mother Omneya Negm, Ms Julia Finn MP Member for Granville for the Labor Opposition, Ms Aisha Amjad, the Director of Community Relations Office of Senator Sam Dastyari, Ms Myrna Chaar from the Department of Family and Community Services and Ms Lucy Emery from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. Each speaker shared their insight and applauded MWWA for the hard work and dedication which they exert for the betterment of the community. 27 - 03 - 17
