Welcome back, Literary Slummers, to another episode of Shelf Aware! This week, we're kicking off a new unit on Highland time slip romances with Beyond the Highland Mist. Is this one of the most offensive books we've read? Yes. We've got yucky consent issues, overly-domineering men, and a female protagonist with no personality (other than her hatred of beautiful men). Will Em be able to redeem the genre for Anna? It's a tall order.
