Sam Sessoms is a junior guard for Penn State University’s Men’s Basketball team who organized a Black Lives Matter protest in his hometown of Philadelphia with fellow student-athletes from rival schools following the murder of George Floyd. We talk to Sam about building this coalition of student-athletes, his experience as a Black student-athlete at predominantly white institutions and next steps, including police reform and how he hopes college athletes, coaches and administrators will address issues of racism and inclusion going forward.
