This week we are welcoming photographer and tour guide extraordinaire Yonit Schiller to the show. Yonit shares with us her journey to becoming both a photographer and tour guide and some incredible stories that have made her career a memorable one so far: from a 10-day photography trip to China to photographing intimate "Corona weddings" and being part of the new normal we all experienced during the lock-down period. ABOUT OUR GUEST:
Based in Jerusalem, Yonit Schiller is currently living her dream by both working as a licensed tour guide and professional photographer. Her photographs have been featured in numerous publications including National Geographic Magazine, Haaretz, Times of Israel, The Jerusalem Post, Yediot Achronot, and Yisrael Hayom.
Yonit was born in Israel and moved with her family six years later to
Buffalo, New York, where she grew up. She received her Honors BA
from York University in History & Religious Studies, and moved back
to Israel in 2006, at the outbreak of the Second Lebanon War, where
she completed her Masters in Jewish Education at the Hebrew
University.
While freelancing as a photographer, Yonit turned her
sights onto a parallel path- towards informal Israel education- and
graduated from the rigorous Ministry of Tourism course, certifying her
as a tour guide and -ultimately-carving out her destiny.
