Our first guest is none other than Devorah Levine Katz of Pat BaMelach fame and she will be sharing with us everything about how she and her husband began their business, their new business venture, Meshek48, and the advice she would like to give olim about standing up to Israeli bureaucracy and finding your place in the Israeli ecosystem.

ABOUT OUR GUESTDevorah Levine Katz grew up in Toronto, Canada and has been living in Israel since 1995. Her first career was in the world of education where she was an educator, curriculum writer and editor. In 2015, she founded Pat BaMelach, an artisan sourdough bakery and a tourist destination in Gush Etzion, with her husband, David. The bakery grew to include a restaurant, event space, and workshop space. Pat BaMelach crackers are currently sold nationally and can be found in over 2500 stores. In June of 2020, Pat BaMelach merged with a larger company and continued to grow. Devorah and David stepped down in March of 2022 and are about to launch their next project, Meshek 48. Past Devorah and David collaborations include five children and a short-lived greenhouse in their backyard.
