A brilliant and wholly original A.I. film that split audiences, Aaron and I believe HER (2013) is not only a classic A.I. film but an excellent movie in its own right. A perfect tonic for all the dystopic A.I. films in the past decades — Blade Runner, Terminator, The Matrix, Ex Machina, etc. — HER nevertheless has some disturbing overtones in both the performances and the implications. But it's the human-human and human-AI relationships that make this movie so wonderful. Enjoy our commentary.
