Project Veritas, a right-wing group that conducts undercover stings for stories, attempted to malign Twitter with a secretly recorded interview. The operation headed by James O’Keefe wanted to show that the social media company is biased against President Donald Trump. But the interview only showed that even when a Twitter employee doesn’t like Trump, company policy protects his account from being deleted, and the legal process shields his direct messages and private information unless Twitter gets a subpoena.
