• Accountability: CVA supports strong accountability measures that would allow the VA to quickly fire bad employees. The VA Accountability First and Appeals Modernization Act would do just that.
• Choice: CVA fights for veterans to have choice over their health care by empowering them to use their benefits at their own discretion, inside or outside of the VA.
• CVA supports the Caring for our Heroes in the 21st Century Act. The aim of this draft legislation is to provide more options for veterans who find that, for whatever reason, the VA system does not meet their needs, and to give the veteran health care system more flexibility to account for the demographic shifts in the veteran population.
• Transparency: CVA advocates for greater transparency at the VA, including more robust financial reporting and regular auditing to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse
