The trend of bilingual music has been taking over the airwaves, with Latin and Hispanic artists charting on billboard and featuring on hits by mainstream American artists. In 2015, there was a rapid increase of bilingual music produced, shared and streamed and an increase in advertisement revenues, according to Nielson reports. It is clear that there is an audience for bilingual music, so why aren't more French/English artists producing it especially in an officially bilingual country like Canada? In celebration of the French culture in Canada, this documentary will explore how culture influences artists’ linguistic style.
