Back in the mouse and keyboard world of ableton, all samples were loaded into some custom made midi triggered auto samplers (arpegiator + random + velocity + scale + sampler). The samples were grouped roughly by the track titles and I played a few runs through adjusting the midi parameters and the sample lengths, start / stop parameters along the way. Topped with some light echo and reverb.
