Description

Christian and I were both raised by single mothers in the shadow of 90s welfare reform. When and why did the two-parent household become enshrined in American social policy? On our pilot episode, we sit down with Georgetown professor Dr. Marcia Chatelain to talk about about the history of social welfare policy in the United States. What starts as a policy driven discussion of major social policies evolves into a more personal one about the value of marriage, personal responsibility, and the American Dream.
