"Think of [music therapy] as a tool to help people make positive changes in their lives," she explained of her goals for the cancer patients she works with. During the pandemic, the number of James patients and their caregivers who participated in music therapy programs actually increased. "We wanted to give people that human connection and feel cared for and heard and understood," Jackson said.
