John 2 contains two well known events in Jesus' life: the miracle at the wedding and the cleansing of the temple. The two stories highlight the contrasting work of Jesus in people's life: life-giving refreshment and life-changing cleansing.
Whatever work Jesus does in a person's life, the purpose is the same: healing the broken and setting people free from bondage.
