Description

As in Rilke’s poem, in which Orpheus builds a temple to hearing, we put little bricks together to build a “goma” to the sound.
"Uma" means one in portuguese. "Goma" means glue (in São Paulo slang, means house).
We create sound objects, imageless movies, pure sound cinema. We bring sad news: you know the music we listen and love? Is not music! It’s recording.
First axiom: Recording is not music. Not even “electronic music”.
Recording is for music as cinema is for theater. An industrial art, identical products creator, indefinitely playable, impossible situation in music. The collage (edition) reveals the artificial nature of the recorded “music”. To explain and perform this “hammer blowing” philosophy, we present this sound collages, dialectic result of the capitalist process, which we hope “vivacious and resistant to commodification of human relations, operated by the universalization of merchandise” (Bosi, A). Digital resistance like.
