Romans 3:10-12 as it is written, "There is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God; all have turned aside, together they have become useless; there is none who does good, there is not even one."
Where was this written? We find it in Psalms 53:1-3, we read this: “God has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there is anyone who understands, who seeks after God. Every one of them has turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.”
Ps. 53 is God’s judgment of all of mankind as a result of one breach of God’s Law by our father, Adam. Theologically, it is called The Fall of man. Today progressive theologians reject this “narrative” because they don’t like the idea of sin. They don’t like the idea of The Fall because it places everyone under the power and curse of sin and makes us all answerable to God, who must be a righteous judge. He must note every act that falls short of His righteousness. These verses in Ps. 53 and Rom. 3 inform us as to God’s judgment regarding us all. In love, God has told us His judgment. The truth about us is that at one time, through one act, we all together, all of mankind, because useless to God. Not only did Adam and Eve turn aside, but each of us has also done so.
And this is how we know what love is! Paul told the Romans in chapter 5, verses 8-10. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”
God could get nothing from us. We were useless. Yet He loved us because He is love! We who live to love with Jesus express His love because we know God, and as sinners have experienced His love. Like God, we don’t have to get anything from people. They may be useless to us, yet we love them because God is love and we have been loved by Him. He has reconciled us through His death and lives in us to save us from our uselessness. Celebrate His life and love with Him today.
