Description

Let’s look again at verse 5 of Romans 1. Romans 1:5 The gospel of God…concerning Jesus… through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for His name's sake,
What was it that motivated the apostle Paul to lay down his life as a bondservant of Jesus Christ, to die daily, to travel to places where the gospel had not been preached? It was for the sake of Jesus’ name. Another way to say the same thing is that he was motivated by a desire to see God glorified through the working of God among the Gentiles. Knowing the Holy Spirit would bring all whom God chose to the obedience of faith, he poured out his life so the life of Christ might be manifested.
Today I want to encourage us that this same desire for God to be glorified in Christ should motivate us to live to love with Jesus everyone God puts in our paths. We are still in the age of the Gentiles where God has opened the door for all of whom He has chosen who are not of Jewish descent to obey the gospel and believe on Christ. Have you obeyed and believed? God is still at work through us who live to love with Him to bring about the salvation of many among the nations. May we realize that we are among the bond-servants of Christ who live with a passion to see Jesus’ name exalted above the heavens.
