Description

John 17:4 “I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.”
What person has ever accomplished this work of glorifying God every minute of his or her life on earth? No one. Everyone has fallen short of the glory of God, but Jesus. John wrote in John 1:14, “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Jesus defined what it is to glorify God, namely, doing what God sent Him to do. He never did anything on His own initiative or in His own power. Every word and every action was the exact representation of the Father. Hebrews 1:3 “And He (Jesus) is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His (the Father’s) nature.” Such is the heart of Jesus.
If Jesus lives in us, His heart will be evident in our lives. He does in us what He was sent to do, namely, glorify His father by loving those given to Him. This is why we live to love with Jesus. He continues the work of glorifying His father as we (Jesus and us) love those He puts in our paths today for His glory.
